Camera shots/angles

For this blog, I choose to capture a variety of pictures from different angles and shot types. While we were in the library for class, I experimented with different ways to frame the shots.

 

                                                                                  Here are my shot/angles:

 



Mid-shot: This is a shot of my friend, Christopher, deep in thought as he decides which book to read next. 





Two-shot: This shot shows my friends, Christopher and Jesus, in the midst of a competitive game of rock-paper-scissors. 




Establishing shot: This shot shows a clear view of everyone in the library. 


 

Long shot: This shot is taken from the far side of the room, and it shows my friend, Jesus, choosing a book





Point Of View Shot: This shot shows the perspective from my glasses, focusing on a picture that says "Career."




High Angle Shot: This is a shot of me looking down at my friend, as she reads her book. 


Over the shoulder shot: This video shows my friends, Laiba and Tatiana, having a joyful conversation.




Close-Up shot: This shot closely shows my friend Tatiana, dramatically shocked by something she discovered. 





Wide Shot: This shot shows some of my classmates either working or socializing. 




Low angle shot: This shot looks up at my classmate as she reads her book

Camera Movements

In this blog, I will be exploring different camera movements, showing how each one can change the way we see a scene. I’ll explain what each shot does, how it affects the audience, and why it’s used in filming Tilt: The shot begins at the student’s feet and tilts upward, capturing her hands as she struggles to choose a book. By leaving her face out of frame, the tilt emphasizes her hesitation through gesture and movement rather than expression. Depending on the pace, the shot can serve different purposes. At normal speed, it presents an ordinary moment, while in slow motion, it builds suspense and highlights the difficulty of her choice. Steadicam: This Steadicam shot captures two friends studying in the library. As they continue their work while talking with others around them, the shot creates a natural and realistic atmosphere. Preliminary Exercise

 Two friends mourning together in silence                                              This photo shows two friends sitting close together, sharing a quiet moment of grief. Even without words, you can feel the support between them through their body language and how they lean toward each other. The black‑and‑white filter adds to the mood, making the scene feel heavier and more focused on their emotions instead of the background. The eye‑level angle keeps everything honest and simple, almost like you’re witnessing the moment in real time. How this could've been improved?  A softer light source could’ve made the emotion stand out even more Commentary on decisions I made during shooting: I moved in close, so their hands and faces were the main focus, since that’s where the emotion really shows.
